Clinique De Paris - Asian hairline with high density and natural result

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does a hair transplant work?

A hair transplant is the process of extracting hairs from the donor zone (at the back of the head) then placing them in balding or thinning areas. The hairs at the back are insensitive to the hormone that causes hair loss – Dihydrotestosterone (or DHT).

By placing them at the front of the hairline (or crown), these hairs continue to grow for a lifetime, and can be cut or styled however you wish.

The procedure takes just one day and the recovery is fast. Our expert team can guide you through a hairline design that enhances your features and proportions.

What is the difference between FUT and FUE hair transplants?

The Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is the ‘strip’ method of hair transplantation — where a flap of skin is sliced from the back of the scalp then sewn together. This is the quickest (and cheapest) hair surgery but requies stitches and often leaves a scar.

Follicular unit extraction uses ‘punches’ up to 1cm to extract the donor hairs, which can leave a patchy appearance at the back. These are then ‘plugged’ into the hairline but tend to clump into sprouts or rows rather than appear natural looking.

At Clinique de Paris we use innovative micro tools (1mm in diameter) to carefully extract each hair without visible scarring, then place each individual hair controlling the angle, direction, and depth. Our technique allows for faster recovery, no visible scarring and results in maximum density that looks natural.

Is a hair transplant painful?

Overall, no. We use local anesthetic for a painless experience, and oral sedatives to allow you to relax completely or even fall asleep. This allows you to catch up on rest, leaving fresher than you arrived, and avoids the risks of general anesthetic.

It’s common to feel some ‘fullness’ in the hairline for a few days following the procedure with mild swelling, but rarely do patients require further pain medication.

Will there be any scarring from the hair transplant?

No, we use patented micro tools (1mm in diameter), which allow precision in extraction and implantation without disrupting the surrounding skin or causing visible scarring.

Unlike other hair transplantation techniques, we do not use any incisions, strips, or stitches, which means more natural-looking results and the ability to have short/fade cuts in the future!

How long does a hair transplant take?

The hair transplant procedure itself takes just a single day from beginning to end (approximately 8-10 hours). Our doctors are capable of undertaking large hair transplants- up to 6000 hairs in a single day for select candidates. Our team will ensure your comfort during the day.

The hair will take a few months to naturally grow, and during this time our team will ensure adequate follow up to make sure all questions are answered, and satisfaction achieved.

Am I suitable for a hair transplant?

There are many types and causes of balding.

Our team can guide you through your treatment options, including medical and surgical treatment. We can tailor a plan based on your requirements, area to be filled and budget. We offer obligation free consultations to allow you to decide what is best for your body.

Individuals with unstable kidney or cardiac conditions, or those undergoing chemotherapy within 2 years are not suitable. Men under the age of 23 are encouraged to try medical therapies first.

Can women have a hair transplant?

Yes of course, female pattern baldness is a genuine medical concern. We utilize the same technique of extraction and implantation to create designer hairlines for women or thicken the existing hair. For ladies, we do not require a full shave to extract the hairs, and our doctors are skilled at creating feminine and feathered hairlines to accentuate your features.

At the end of the procedure you can leave with a ponytail or downstyles, for discretion during recovery. See our results for some examples.

We accommodate all cis and trans women to our clinic.

I’ve already had a hair transplant, can I have another one?

Yes. Many patients have experienced ongoing balding in a new area and want this filled. We can help since our extraction technique is minimally invasive, and our implantation aims for maximum density.

Up to 20% of our cases are ‘repair’ cases from other, older styles of hair transplantation (including FUT and FUE. These require special care and often achieve great results. We can also offer scar repair from previous ‘strip’ methods, using our micropigmentation service.

Who will perform the procedure?

Only certified doctors will do the procedure from beginning to end — not technicians, and certainly not robots. This ensures the highest standard of care and strict adherence to protocols. Our qualified nursing staff also undergo rigorous training both locally and abroad to refine this specialized skill.

How many hairs will I need?

During a consultation, we grade the severity of your balding using a standardized chart and use a magnified camera to examine the scalp and follicles. Next, we take measurements and design a hairline that suits your face shape, age, and natural features. Finally, we calculate the number of grafts based on the ideal density and shape.

We offer sizes from 1500-5000 hairs. No two hairlines are identical, but are individually designed with technical precision and artistry.

How long is the recovery process/downtime?

After your procedure, our staff will give you full instructions regarding the post-op protocols used by all DHI clinics. You will have a bandage for just one day, then follow a 3 day spraying protocol with close instructions from the staff. It is recommended to lie flat when resting and avoid looking down at screens to avoid facial swelling.

Most patients can return to computer work (e.g work from home) by the next day. Returning to face-to face work takes about a week.

Light exercise can resume in one week, and should include a hat when outdoors. By two weeks, the skin is fully recovered, and you can return to heavy exercise, swimming, and a haircut.

What will the results look like?

Each hairline is a combination of art and science — and the transformations are dramatic. While the industry standard for graft survival is 70-80%, we have refined a graft handling technique that allows for the highest graft survival rate in the industry — upwards of 98%.

Hair transplants at Clinique de Paris can achieve higher density and more natural-looking hairlines than ever before.

What is the follow-up process?

At Clinique de Paris, we offer follow-up consultations as part of the premium service. We recommend official reviews at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months to assess the growth of transplanted hair. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have via text, email, or call. For international clients, we can also conduct medical reviews through video calls, by appointment.

I’m traveling to the Philippines, how do I book a virtual consultation?

We often cater to foreign visitors and returning Filipinos who want world class treatments, combined with a holiday. We can arrange a virtual consultation before you arrive and outline all the preparation and travel requirements for you.

When traveling after your hair transplant, we recommend at least 1 day before a domestic flight and 3 days before an international flight. Since swimming and excess sun is not allowed for 2 weeks, having the hair transplant towards the end of the trip is ideal.

How much is a hair transplant in the Philippines?

The investment of a hair transplant varies, depending on the area to be covered and number of grafts available. The Philippines is a popular choice due to our world-class treatments and competitive rates.

Our hair transplants start at P200k for 1,500 hairs, all inclusive.
