Unlike tattoos or permanent make-up, SMP uses permanent and non-toxic pigments applied to the scalp in a way that produces an accurate simulation of thicker hair.
SMP can be used to cover the entire scalp, or areas of balding in adjunct with hair implants.
In combination with a hair transplant, SMP is an excellent addition in some cases to reduce the contrast between areas of balding. By expertly placing each stroke of pigment, the artist can create the illusion of density.
In cases where hair transplants are not indicated, SMP can be used to create the appearance of a fresh buzz cut, using a natural finish that looks dense from a distance and ultra-natural at the hairline up close.
For those who have had an older style of hair transplant (FUT) and have a scar or patch, SMP can help reduce its appearance. This allows patients to have short fade cuts once again.
